How much does a log home cost?
- An average log package costs $25 to $35 for homes under 600 sq/ft $35 to $45 sq/ft for homes over
600 sq/ft
- Square ft cost will increase with number of corners and the complexity of the structure
- A finished home can run from $175.00 and up per sq ft
- Dry-in packages, (exteriors finished) rough in framing start at $85 sq/ft & up. This allow the homeowner to finish the house inside themselves & save $$$.
Can a log home be financed?
- Yes, there are finance companies that specialize in log home financing
- We can help you find contact financing specialist if needed
Can you finish my log home?
- If you live outside the state of Montana, we can help you find a contractor to finish your house for you
- If you live in Montana, Top Notch Log Homes has teamed up with several general contractors in the Flathead Valley who specialize in Log Home construction.
- We work hand in hand with the contractor to insure proper building techniques are used in finishing your home.
What is your construction method at Top Notch Log Homes?
- We use the same technique used by generations of Scandinavians before us, the full scribe Swedish cope method.
- All logs are hand picked, hand peeled, full length logs with no visible butt splices.
- A V-trough is cut in the horizontal logs, and the corners are saddle notched.
- We use Hidden chamfer method so you see the natural corners of the logs
- We also offer Log Chink style for those who love the chinking look.
How energy efficient are your homes?
- Top Notch Log Homes uses 12' to 24" diameter logs in our log homes. The thermal mass of log make them cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter than conventional frame homes.
Do you do custom design homes?
- Almost every log home Top Notch Log Homes builds is a tailored custom design. From napkin sketch to the final drawings, Top Notch Log Homes is a handcrafted custom log home builder.
